Sun Safety Tips
Avoid direct sun during peak hours: 10 AM to 3 PM
Block both UVA and UVB with the use of broad spectrum sunscreens
Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going outside
Wear sun protective clothing: long sleeved shirt and pants, UV protective sunglasses, and a 4 inch brimmed hat (baseball caps don’t protect the ears)
Avoid tanning salons
Protect your children and teach good sun habits
Do a skin self examination at least every 3 months. If you see any signs of skin cancer, consult your doctor.
Protect things that “stick out” (nose, ears and lower lip)
